Email Routing

Email Routing

mail Routing is a feature of cPanel that allows you to manage how and where emails will be sent to your domains.

  1. Logged into your cPanel, select "Email Routing" in the Email section.

  2. You can route the emails that come to your inbox to another server, for example. First, select the domain for which you will change the configuration.

  3. The default is "Local mail server", which uses the server on which you own the domain to receive and send email.
    * Configuration automatically detected: in the configuration, the system identified through its DNS entries how the email will work.

  4. You can select, from 4 options, how you want the emails to behave.

Note: if the MX input is not functional, this setting will not be effective
* Local mail server: the server will always accept emails for this domain, delivering the messages to the inbox;

* Back up the message server: the server will act as a backup, receiving messages until a lower priority MX is available;

 * Remote mail server: the server will not accept emails for this domain, sending all messages to an external server;

After selecting the desired option, just click on change, the selected option will always appear in bold.
